Yes it’s all over again for another year. We still have to do quite a lot of cleaning up, but the Festival was a success in every way. It started with a bang and a fire the week before at the gas refill plant down the road. After that we had glorious weather and on Monday after the Festival the rain came down to settle the dust. Financially we have done well. Only slightly down on last year, which was a record anyway. Apart from the financial side, to me it was more important to pull the whole thing off. It was a bit scary with so many of our regular volunteers not available due to sickness here or overseas, or as in one case, broken into during the night and no car-keys, mobile phone or electricity in the house. Whatever could go wrong went wrong in the week leading up to the Festival but, guess what???? The Rembrandt Spirit kicked in and everybody present did more then required and even more than sometimes was physically possible. The result was a brilliant Festival. The local media is raving about it with a great story and beautiful photos. May I take this opportunity to say a big Thank You to everyone that has contributed, not only during, but also before and after the Festival. Also a Thank You to all our sponsors and silent donators that have contributed. Without all of you we could not have done it. Thank You Very Much President John Joosten
