Big news for Annie & Arie.
We have won a competition with A.B.C Classic FM. a free flight with Qantas to Adelaide and back.5 star hotel, prime seat in Saturday concert with the Adelaide Symphony audience with the maestro and the ABC compare Julia Lester. Free breakfast and champagne dinner, free transfers all for this weekend. We also participated in another competition for seats in the one concert only in November when the Berlin philharmonic comes to Sydney. There were 4 questions to answer, they weren't easy, but with Arie's knowledge of music and thousands of postage stamps at his disposal, I am sure they will pick out his envelope
They had a tiebreaker question (what would you call the hairdresser of Herbert von Karajan) the famous maestro of the Berlin philharmonic
I couldn't think of a better name then "crotchet snipper"

The 45th Anniversary of the Klaverjas Federation held at the Neerlandia Club on the 12th of June organised by the committee of the Federation

The hall was filled to the brim with over 100 participants including 95 card players..........
We were proud to have the Dutch Deputy Consul- General Willem de Bruin and a few well known hierarchies like Theo ten Brummelaar, John Leiseboer from the Federation of Netherland Society. The organization of the festivities by the committee could not be called anything but excellent.
The quality and the presentation of the dinner which was all done by volunteers of Neerlandia were well appreciated.
The entertainment of the celebration was joyful and got the folks dancing like teenagers. The band played a repertoire of old Dutch tunes what made people sing and dance the polonaise.
Special guest where Andre Rieu and Mirusia (Jan and Mia Joosten). Much appreciated by the audience.
There were prices to be won with the raffle, also lucky door prices and an auction that made people pull out their wallets.
A day not to forget, in the pages of the Dutch community in Australia.
