Presidents Report March 2010
News Item
Well, things are happening. A lot of work has been done in the last week in preparation for the festival. The 2 new air-conditioning units have been installed now and the rest will be done after the Festival. A big thank you goes to Ian and Marlene who volunteered to do the electrical part of this job as well as dismantling and taking away the old unit. Also a big Thank You goes to the person who donated the concrete slab that was needed for the new awning at the back. We also started working on the extension of the front awning, as this was a request from the health department; “all food stalls have to be under cover” All in all great work done, thank you to all involved. Our carnival night was again an outstanding success. A full hall, great entertainment, and we have a new prince. Welcome Prince Peter 1st I know we had to disappoint some people, as the night was fully booked. So if YOU missed out, book early next time. Look in this magazine for future dates. Due to strict licensing laws, we can only have a certain amount of people. When we reach that number, there is no way we can add to it. Talking about law, we now have an evacuation plan on the wall in case of an emergency. Please have a look at it, so you know how and where to get out of the building in case of an emergency. The plan is on the wall in the corner of the bookshelves and the entry of the billiard room. When you come in the front door, straight ahead at the entrance of the billiard room stairs. See you all at the Festival. John Joosten
