Klaverjas report August 2010
News Item
July has been a big month for us The second half of the 2010 competition started with 23 players and 6 casuals (that are the players who can't attend every week) The Geluks-Beker tournament on the 11th of July was one of the most exiting events ever. A marvelous turn out with 66 players. It was on the day before the final of the World Soccer. Holland had to play Spain. The club was in a festive mood decorated with not less then 50 orange balloons tied on every railing and light post. Our national anthem was played several times and every one joined in "Hup Holland Hup" was the song of the day. The Geluks Beker winner was Piet de Vries with 5828 points Second Gerrit Visser 5768 " Third Wilma Viset 5151 " Fourth Rinus Bussing 5037 " Fifth Kees Wietjes 5026 "
The most innovated Orange dressed person was Bea Lemmerman Her price was a basket with oranges………. Thanks to everyone for coming, and making the day a success Also thank you so much to Rosina and Cor Merkx. Rosina made the orange topped cupcakes for the occasion. A big hand for the bar and kitchen staff. We couldn't have done without you on a day like the 11th of July Atty and Bram Kommer have gone for their 3rd honeymoon and will be away until the end of September. Tony van Gaalen has come back from Holland with a suntan Elly and Piet de Vries had a quick trip to NZ to check the snow levels, and came back convinced that OZ is a better place. Mia and Jan are on a well earned holiday. We wish them a good time Your card leader Annie van de Mortel
